Is it a meme for $30 or is it actually useful? Better or equal alternatives for less? Discuss. I want it since it is arguably a must if you want to play with the best controller for PC.
>>
No wires is pretty nice
>>
>>333196287
There are no drivers for win 7 anymore though.
]Microshit pulled them because they want to force their meme spying OS win 10.
>>

Proof?

>>333196287
>best controller

That's not a DS4 or GameCube controller.
>>
Buy a fucking ds4 or 360 controller. This one is fucking shit
>>
>>333196392
>no wires
>what is power source
>>
I was thinking about picking this up today actually.

Anyone have it? I've been using 12ft usb cable so I can lay in bed and play sometimes.
>>
>>333196650
The battery you fucking pleb
>>
>>333196650
I was originally going to write about having to charge your battery, but I figured it's something even a kid could do
>>
>>333196674
Yes, works good and they got rid of the win10 only bs
>>
Ds4 is shit. Can't even play COD or anything well with it since its shitty analogs together and trash battery life. Sonycucks please.
>>
30$? That's what I paid for my DS4 which works perfectly on pc with a program I wouldn't get rid of even if it wasn't required, because it offers much more than just a driver.

the DS4 is natively compatible though.
>>
>>333197123
Yeah he was b8 probably.
>>
If you wanna play wireless its really handy. I ain't too much of a fan of those shitty USB cables considering how easy they get knocked out.
>>
Is any dongle OK for DS4 or is there considerable lag on the cheaper brands?
>>
>>333196890
>>333196641
>>333196603

WHO DO I BELIEVE
>>
>>333197217
Input lag will only matter in competitive games, specifically fps which you shouldn't be using a controller for anyways, except maybe fighting games but if you care enough about them you're going to be using a setup for that

tl;dr you're an autist
>>
>>333196890
>since its shitty analogs together

I litterally don't understand this complaint, it's just a minor adjustment compared to the Xbox, how big are your hands that this fucks you up?
>>
>>333197225
>DS4
My problem with it was that it's battery life sucked. Having to recharge it every 2 hours despite having the light disabled was fucking annoying.
>>
>>333197445
yourself
people like different things in controllers.
For example people who like DS4 like short battery life, useless gimmicks, flimsy triggers, decomposing rubber on analogue sticks and shitty build quality in general and fuck with their OS till the end of time to make their favourite controller into an Xbone controller imitation.
>>
>>333197736
But I enjoy both ps3 and 360 controllers
However, you are right in the shitty battery life when it gets old. Rechargeable batteries of good quality >>>>>>> the integrated one.
>>
>>333197736
>literally thinking the Xbone controller is good

Oh shit, you fell for the meme.

360 controller is best, PS4 is second, Gamecube third.

Xbone controller lasts for about four months of constant play.
>>
>>333197445
GameCube is comfiest controller if you don't have giant hands.
>>
>>333197943

>>333197980
Then not for me.
>>
>>333196287
>since it is arguably a must

? why do you need wireless when you are sitting at max 1-2 feet from your pc?

it's a fucking rip off that cost $2 to produce, i'm waiting for reverse engineered version. But i honestly couldn't care less about wireless anyway

You didn't even try to be subtle.
>>
i use it, it's pretty fucking awesome, i really do recommend it.

i have two xboxone controllers that i use to play coop games with a friend
>>
>>333198063
I haven't tried the ps4 one, but I agree with the gamecube sucking. I used it and just didn't like it.
I preferred the ps2 controller of that gen, too bad they don't make those anymore.
>>
>>333196287
I actually just got one recently and I've had no issues. Also where do you see it for 30? I got mine for 25.
>>
>>333197943
I have fat fucking virgin hands: the reply
>>
>>333198143
Do you need two adapters? Or does 1 adapter work for multiple controllers?
>>
>>333197445
I have both here and while I prefer the DS4, I guess people have different opinions on them.

You can use the DS4 on any pc with a bluetooth adapter (considering your pc already doesn't have bluetooth on it). It's not hard to install either.

Buying the XBONE controller means you'll also have to buy a rechargeable battery pack and this dongle to play on your PC wirelessly.

tl;dr buy both, see which one is better, sell the one you hate the most

>>
>>333198587
Then just get the one that appeals to you the most

Or try them out somewhere man, I dunno
>>
>>333197892
go to the nearest Wallmart or something, they might have demo stations.
I don't like DS3, it's too small, it feels empty and flimsy for me. I like 360 controller, but IMO One is just a bit better in almost every way. I'm talking about new controller with fixed bumpers and 3.5 jack. Don't get Lunar White, build quality on these things isn't stellar, you need to loosen a bolt for a side panel to fir properly.
DS4 is better than DS3, but I got early shipment and it's awful. Triggers break all the time, analogue stick dies almost instantly, buttons are too small, I don't like what they did to d-pad. It's full of useless gimmicks and battery life is shit, for some reason it's also heavier than Xbone controller. And on PC you need to fuck around to make it work and in the end you'll get a differently shaped Xbone controller. Sony didn't release drivers for PC.
>>
>>333198642
That kinda sucks.
I have both ps3 and xbox 360 controller and I like them nearly equally.
They both have their downsides, d pad is better in ps3, while it sucks in 360 and the battery I prefer the one of 360 since when they start dying you can simple replace them unlike the ps3 ones.
DECISIONS DECISIONS
>>
I have an xbone with a recharger and rechargeable battery and the wireless, pretty nice but definitely at a cost vs the ds4 though it has a far longer battery life and I find it more comfortable but that's a personal preference. Only problem I've had with it is the rumble doesn't work for every game and needs to be forced on, if you google 360 force feedback and download that it works with the one controller too

I still use a ps3 controller for ps2/ps1 emulation though and apparently when the 360 controller drivers are active it disables the xbones which is kind of weird
>>
>>333199096
Sony raised d-pad a bit on DS4, not enough to make any real difference, but enough to make me annoyed.
XBO controller D-pad isn't great, they went too far the other way, it's super clicky and tight.
>>
>>333199096
What are you going to mainly use it for?
>>
Just buy a steam controller
>>
>>333199943
You buy one
>>
>>333199845
Emulation
I now play old games mostly with the stick though. Hard to go back to d pad.
>>
>>333198374
1 adapter works with up to 8 controllers, or something along those lines. its pretty cool.
>>
>>333199943
I'm not sure the controller works well for rpgs, or I'd might.
>>
>>333200175
For older games, I like the XBONE dpad more. The DS4 dpad is fine if you're playing something and use it to select a weapon or whatever, but I can't imagining using it for extended periods of time, especially for older games where you have to use it constantly.
>>
>>333196467
anon here who has installed the wireless shit on win7. it's definitely a pain in the cock but it's possible. i'd provied you with some links to downloads and tutorials since i saved all the files in a folder and made my own fucking readme it was so inconvenient but i'm not at home. sorry op. bottom line is the wireless controller doesn't support win7 but you can make it work.

also the controller drivers itself are a pain to install just because of win7. i have windows updates disabled because fuck that but it may be easier if you have updates enabled since they were supposed to create native support for win7 through a windows update. major nelson also released the standalone driver for download but for some people, myself included, they don't work for unknown reasons.
>>
>>333197206
I don't even own a ps4.
>>
Get a Dualshock 4 and cheap bluetooth adapter
no windows 10 required
>>
>>333201046
What do when battery is dying?
>>
>>333200662
I have windows update disabled and I still got it to work. All you have to do is when it fails to find drivers is tell it to look online, then it'll install the relevant drivers.

I'm using the dongle with the Elite controller on Win7
>>
>>333200662
I don't know when you did all this but when I started using the adapter for mine it was pretty painless and works fine.
>>333201046
the adapter has been 7/8 compatible for some time now and you've always been able to just plug it in
>>
>>333200057
I did and I like it.
>>333200279
It works just as good for rpgs as anyother controller.
>>
>>333201189

Plug it in with one of the 30,000 micro usb cables the average household has lying around the place.
>>
>>333201456
Can you use the steam controller as a desktop device?
>>
Is it possible to use wireless Xbone or 360 controller with Linux?
>>
>>333201480
>micro usb cables
Are you serious? they suck ass
>>
>>333201583
Yup. It actually functions really well as a desktop browser.
You can use the scroll wheel by rubbing your left thumb in a circular motion on the left track pad and other cool shit like that.
>>
>>333202184
They connect the controller to the fucking PC how in the hell could they quantifiably "suck ass"
>>
>>333202184
What magic cable do you have that works with it then
>>
>>333202373
Because they disconnect so easily
I have tried them for a while and had to switch to wireless because they dsconnect and make me die in games fuck that shit, it is annoying i games where you need to be 100% ready to react.
>>
>>333202634
it's not the cable, it's the ds4

BUT IT IS ALMOST BRAND NEW
>>
>>333202634
Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem. I love the XBone controller but it seems to break all my fucking cables. Hoping the wireless adapter will fix this issue
>>
>>333203030
what's your point, new isnt perfect it's usually the opposite. first iteration of any tech is the worse. it's a flaw in it's design and a lot of people have the same issue, don't blame the cable for sonys fuck up though
>>
>>333203205
Then fuck them.
Should I use a wii classic controller?
>>
>>333203339
I don't care what you do, you sound like an idiot though
>>
I bought it and it basically works flawlessly every time I use it. Much easier than connecting a cable every time you want to play something with it, and I can easily play PC games on my home TV with it. Although if you don't want to spend the $20 it costs, then go with wired.
>>
>>333203375
Wow, is this what the kids these days call b8? Go buy some more cheetos, young one.
>>
>>333203473
I bought a 360 wired controller and it broke in 6 months.
I won't touch them ever again.
>>
>>333203694
That wasn't bait
If you're the same anon you're just proving my point
>>
>>333203871
>You are an idiot because your DS4 doesn't work right
I don't follow.
Sony makes stupid garbage and I am the idiot when their garbage doesn't work? Kill yourself, please even if this is b8.
Somebody that wants to give serious recommendations without b8 please respond. Is the nintendo classic controller better, or should I stick to 360 or xbone?
>>
>>333204285
I wasn't calling you an idiot about the controller because you're right it's on sony not you.
I was calling you an idiot because you just sound like an idiot.
just stick to the 360 or xbone if you have it, no reason to switch
