there are 4 chests in Final Fantasy 12 that you can't open, and if you do it locks you out from the Zodiac Spear. One of the chests is right at the beginning, another couple in one-off places you only visit once, and another in a mid-game location. The Celestial Weapons in X are probably the most bullshit things in the series to get. The Zodiac Spear is dumb too but if you already know about it you just have to avoid the chests.
