As interesting an idea as that is, even he isn't likely to be THAT old. And the Blood War didn't really have an inciting incident, it's just the natural result of a universe filled with literal "planet of hats" alignments all forced to share the same general space.

Following the theme of how completely pre-planned malicious you have to be to be genuinely evil and not just "Lol for the evulz give me yur money or I kill u" in the game, Nameless' crime was probably some cosmic-level bullshit that ruined the universe forever for no other reason than his personal gain.

>Enhanced edition when?
This. The combat is trite, UI is shit and there's the big issue of gameplay pacing being unbalanced as fuck. In the first half you can mostly talk your way out of combat situations and most of the time is spent like playing a point'n'click investigation adventure, whereas the latter half is nothing but longass, mostly linear dungeons.

It's especially awful if you have a party of casters as the gameplay devolves into constantly running back and forth between the point where you last killed enemies and the only fucking resting spot.

>>
>>333174052
>It's what the previous anon said, he's somehow offended EVERY SINGLE GOD with his original crime.
I understood it more that the original crime was only something that made TNO want to extend his own lifespan, and him being forsaken by all the gods came from something he / all his incarnations did over their longass life.

>>
>>333174819
You understood it wrong, but I'm not saying that in an insulting way; game is cryptic as fuck especially when it comes to Nameless' backstory. Facts as they are presented are,

>TNO is mortal
>TNO commits original crime
>TNO discovers he is reviled by every god in the multiverse and is absolutely going to super-hell
>TNO attempts to extend life to atone
>TNO discovers there is absolutely no way to atone even in a thousand lifetimes
>TNO barters for full immortality to escape super-hell
>Game occurs many incarnations after this bartering
>>
>>333174818
>Combat occurs like once ever 2 hours for 10 minutes max, yeah its clunky, but it's not like it's a central focus.
Yeah, for the first half of the game. Everything after you go meet Ravel is nothing but unavoidable combat encounters. Ravel's Maze, Curst, the demon area, Curst revisited, Fortress of Regrets.
>>

Planescape DM here, it really does work on a 'clap your hands if you believe' logic. The tabletop actually has a system for making things happen depending on how much you beleive it will. If you're part of the Sign of One faction, this is your ultimate goal and you can actually imagine things in and out of exsistance.

This only works on the outer planes, mind. The inner and transistional planes don't work like that. And that's the dark of that, berk.

Considering it was something so shocking and morally repugnant that it caused TNO to beg Ravel to make him forget it as part of his 3rd wish as soon as he discovered what his original crime was, I'm betting it was something along the lines of brutally raping and killing a ton of babies.

Starting the Blood War (making a bunch of demon faggots kill each other) or accelerating entropy (metaphysics faggotry) doesn't really pack the same punch and it wouldn't elicit the same reaction i.e. "PLEASE MAKE ME FORGET WHAT I DID RIGHT NOW.

Morte lies to your face a lot, does that make everything he said true? If you look at the context, it's pretty clear that the original incarnation wasn't being entirely honest. While regret was his stated motivation, along with atonement, he did it because he did not want to participate in the Blood War for the rest of eternity. Because he thought he could atone for what he did, and all he needed was more time. His true atonement was accepting what he did, not bargaining for immortality to escape his crime.

LoP is actually a figment of Ravel's personality that got so autistic that it created a whole complicated plane of doors that turned out to be so comfortable for everyday usage that people started living there. Turning into a deity would somehow break her control over the rest of Ravel and the personality splice would revert, deleting Sigil and potentially a number of other planes invented by LoP, so she actively opposes being worshipped.

How long has Blood War been going on anyways? I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the game, the devs, or if it's a fan theory or whatever but I remember hearing somewhere that TNO "only" lived for about one or few thousand years.
>>
>>333178645
They weren't. The prime material plane hadn't formed when the Blood War started. That's why it's impossible for him to have started it unless there's some time travel shenanigans or if he somehow did something so horrible that it sent shockwaves through time and space into the past, retroactively starting it, I guess.

I would guess it has more to do with something that increased the entropy of the universe, effectively slowly killing everything forever.

How did he get Deionarra to love him so much that she would essentially be he ghost slave for all time?

She pretty much states that he never showed her any affection and treated her like dirt. This was also Practical so he was still a scarred-up grey mess physically.

He clearly has insane god levels of Charisma, but if even Deionarra herself seems to know he didn't give a fuck about her, it seems strange. I guess he just used that CHR on her once and she fell for him forever.

I think PS:T is the only game that deserves a proper prequel. Maybe about mortal portion of his life, or his rebirth cycles throughout the ages, whatrever. I know purists will lose their shit, but The Nameless One is too much of an interesting character to be wasted on one game. Plus Sigil is an incredibly interesting place to revisit, instead of whatever cucked 'inspired' Torment game inXile is about to shit out

No, no, no. A prequel would ruin it completely. TNO and PS:T are interesting exactly because of the way everything unravels before you while you explore the game world. TNO is an awesome character because he exists in this one story.

For starters they could fix the radial UI and add a combat log.
>>
>>333179345
well, that's a stretch, but taking this theory into consideration would make imprisoning ravel pretty sound. If ravel created LoP, freeing her would technically kill her - LoP holds onto her artifically ceated life and imprisons ravel to prevent her from coming back to her senses and erasing LoP from existence. This would make LoP some kind of bizarre escapist reality went paranoid.

He thought the Heavens were too far away from the Blood War and thus did not care about, or even try to, end it, because they thought that keeping the demons and devils warring with each other was saving the rest of the Planes from their evils.

They would have had to buy the rights to Planescape from Wizards and Wizards doesn't do Planescape stuff anymore so it wasn't really an option. It's not like Wasteland where they could use the IP.

That's why it's Torment: Tides of Numeria and not called Planescape. It's a spiritual sequel is all.

As for the marketing, well it's obvious they want people to think it's got something to do with Planescape so they'll notice it.
