MiiMoto doesn't work on Rooted devices. As in, the game is programmed to check on launch if the device is rooted, and if it is, it crashes immediately.
There's a workaround, and I'm playing it right now, but it took me some time as I had to flash Xposed Framework through recovery.
Any idea why Nintendo would do this? Purposefully disallow Rooted devices?

Miitomo's size does not match its content. It is a blatantly bloated app that's much bigger than it remotely needs to be.
Tomodachi Life was 407MB and had far more content packed into those 407MB than Miitomo does in its 500MB.
The argument that "size doesn't matter because storage is cheap" is an argument made by shortsighted people who don't understand that an application has to share space on a storage medium with other applications.

Bloat is a product of laziness and inefficiency and you're arguing in favor of both. Your argument is the same as the "RAM is meant to be used" argument. Just because they can be used doesn't mean they need to be used. No one likes a resource hog, which is why you need to keep file sizes and RAM usage managed and under control.

Inside Out Thought Bubbles (Bust-A-Move clone with 3D character models) uses about 120MB and Subway Surfers which uses about 100MB.
Both are more graphically impressive than Miitomo, which is just a close up of a Mii in a room. with simple textures.
