It's random. After combat, you can randomly board ships that is 'alive and is doing emergency repairs to get away'. You can buy marines to board them, but you can't gutantee a chance to board the ship itself(I heard that it's anout 3% or so, but it surely feels muc more frequent than that, as I gan get to board one every 1~3 battles). The success chance is based on your number of marines vs enemy crew.

You can get an average of +3 relations per station/planet bounty kills. Take out something big, like a pirate bounty in that system and you can get +5, seperate from the fleet bounty itself. Just be patient, I worked myself out of vengenful this way. Having a strong fleet helps since that means that independent patrols will actively avoid you.

Go into the mod folder for the imperium guys and go to data then weapons then open in notepad ++ the weapons data csv file, should be at the very end

search for the weapons you mainly use and change the the projectile speeds to be higher so counteract the penalty

At the top of the file you will see what each number means. Pay attention because beams and regular projectiles have different things.

Reminder that holding shift while travelling speeds up time.

Reminder that holding shift while buying things will produce a slider for you to use.

Reminder that ctrl+clicking an item automatically puts the whole stack in the opposite inventory without having to drag to other side. For example, 20 metal ores from your hull inventory to a trade station and vice versa. Still need to confirm trade, of course.

Reminder that hunter kill fleets will always track you no matter how hard you hide, but you can escape them easily by running them through hostiles or warping out.

Reminder to use agents to boost your relations and ruin others. Relation ruining is randomized out of your faction's enemies or neutrals.

I'm going to try tinkering with the settings with all these new updates on a new save. What's the highest level an officer can go to? I'm fine with raising it if AI fleets get the same benefits. Absolute max level should be 36 for officers right? If I remember correctly it should go 1, 4, 7 then 10. I remember there being 9 skills, correct me if I'm wrong:

Combat Aptitude, Damage Control, Evasive Action, Gunnery Implants, Helmsmanship, Missile Specialization, Ordnance Expertise, Power Grid Modulation, and Target Analysis.

I've also increased procurement missions to 75, and max officers for hire to 45. I think default was 35 and 30 respectively. Anything else I should do? I'm fine with vengeful fleets, but I don't know if I agree with being limited to a fleet of 250 supplies/month just yet. Starting a new save after all, so I'll let that stay for now.

I'm hoping with increased missions and officers it will put off the huge lack of cloned organs in my sector, since about half my missions before were for something that's hardly obtainable unlike harvested organs.

They got wiped out while the flight deck was already packed with squads waiting in line. It is a consequence of not having too much fighters and not enough flight deck.

Can be avoided in 2 ways. Get more flight deck fielded during battle. Or set a repair and regroup point with "V" on tactical map for them to retreat after 1 member got shot down and not linger around to be wiped out.

I imagine you shouldn't be able to board every ship you run by since everyone would flee if given the opportunity, at the expense of their former comrades. It could be more likely if troop transports became more useful, receiving a hullmod to increase boarding opportunities to some sort of soft/hard cap. Wishful thinking since I'm no modder, even though I'd like to start making some ships like some other anons have been doing.

But this would make for one hell of a pirate looting spree for a fleet of frigates.
