How do I win? Sometimes when you shoot her during her attacks, she doesn't always get staggered. I have found this boss ridiculously hard, every boss since this one has been beatable in the first 5 tries.

I don't know, for me Ludwig went down in second try.
In the first try, I got him to 2nd phase and realized he has a huge reach with his sword. On 2nd try, on his 2nd phase I just went very close to him and kept spamming attack and dodging but stayed litereally on his skin. I had no problem in this fight.

Use the transform attacks a lot more than you did with the other starter weapons, they're much more effective. It lacks the serrated edge or the shher power of the other two, and is why it's the worse of the 3 starter weapons, buffing it with fire paper helps too.

I can't fucking beat her, I get her down to 50% now pretty often but then will the problems start. When I dodge her, I can most of the time avoid attacks but sometimes when dodging she interrupts with a fucking one hit combo that I can't dodge away from.
When I entered the fight, I had over 300 bullets and now I have 0. I have also farmed tons of blood vials. This is frustrating as fuck.
I guess some fights are just different for others, I know this fight is all about timing and learning her attacks, but many of her attacks look so similar to other ones and some of her attacks have a small delay and you need to dodge it like 1-2 seconds after she triggers them, confusing.

Maria is pretty tough if you don't fish for parries, but there are ways to make the fight more manageable:
1. Use a fast weapon like the saws. Maria, like every humanoid boss in the game, can be stunlocked for your whole bar. Take advantage of this.
2. Always. ALWAYS. A L W A Y S. Dodge inward. Marias moveset, especially in her last two phases, is built to punish you for getting scared, and trying to run away from her range for heals or setup parries. You will fail if you try. The safest place to be is literally right next to her. Dodge in, and to the side.

Learning when to parry her is crucial, her wind up for attacks is a tiny bit longer than you think they will be. Use the untransformed cane and bolt paper and she won't be able to move if you get your timings right, the viscerals are for the second part of the fight. The strategy I used to beat her was basically learning her general attack patterns and how to manipulate her attacks to get the ones I wanted, then abusing the hell out of charged hunters axe spin attack to get in one hard hit and one extra hit in then dashing away. Not the most helpful tip I know but I beat her in NG+4 this way.
It also doesn't help that I'm terrible at riposting so hitting and dodging properly is very important to my playstyle.

I somehow had more trouble with Maria than I did with Orphan or Ludwig. I never parried much against normal enemies except to mix it up as a change of pace, so I never was confident enough to try it regularly in boss fights. Took me 5-6 tries to get her, got Orphan in 3. Got Ludwig's second phase on my first try. Shit's weird.

This has been my strat getting her to 2nd phase easily, and even this doesn't always works because sometimes stunlock isn't working for some reason.
I dash and attack right from the start, usually stunlocks. Then I usually get her to 2nd phase, since I can stunlock her again immediately.
On 2nd phase, when I stunlock her and I combo all my stamina, then I'm right next to her and she just does a wide range slash which always hits me, no matter if I dodge because she hits a 2nd time right after it and my stamina is so low I can't dodge twice in a row really.
Sometimes on 2nd phase I just can't stunlock her at all, she keeps countering me after one hit every time.
3rd phase I gotten around 5 times, and I can barely land one hit before she just wrecks me, she keeps quickening away like a fucking teleporting bitch and then does a wide range attack, and I just dodge constantly until one of her attacks hits me.
And no, I ain't getting help for this fight because I want to solo every fight.

It only took like 70 tries, however I definitely got better each time and when I beat her she barely even hit me in the entire fight.
The dash attack which stunlocks was best way, I made a mistake by emptying stamina bar for hitting as many times as possible.
I landed 4-5 hits, then backed up far away and repeated the dash attack. It worked in all phases actually.

A game I was absolutely adoring is now a game I can’t play at all, because of a wildly difficult boss fight.
