Light-aligned dreadlord isn't something necessarily non-canon, though. It's in a dreadlord's nature to be non-evil, but dreadlords are still sentient beings. They can choose to do and be good. The idea of demons who rebel from the Legion is interesting, and it makes sense, when you consider that's what the orcs did in Warcraft 3.

Undead have been able to handle the Light for qutie some time now, it's just incredibly painful for them to use it, as if all their wounds and rotting flesh is being cauterized.
As for how the lore used to work at least, Fel influence means that a creature is incapable of using the Light.
That being said, this isn't the first time we've seen "purified" demons. Illidan's demons in Black Temple were no longer fel-infused, instead getting their power from the arcane energy source in the temple.
Hell, one of the succubi mobs in BT even used Holy spells.

Yeah that is hard. I'm not going to lie, I do care about the opinions of others and it does bleed into my work. It's only when I stop caring that I feel quality writing come out, but it's very difficult to stop the all seeing eye.
I want a way to break this because I'm aware this is a trend with society. I mean I know people hire writers to write for a particular audience and you get paid to make that audience happy, even if that means 'selling out'. It just sucks because to make an audience grow, a truly skilled writer has to be careful in how they convey messages. They have to write for the audience and put the message between the lines.
