God, I just want to have Phantom Pain end with Venom or Big Boss meeting Solid Snake for the first time. That just seems like the most obvious way to bring closure to the two timelines.

As someone who fucking loved the Phantom pain, get it through your fucking head guys. Game wise, the only thing "cut" is episode 51. We know this for a fact because of just how much was done for it. However, that ALSO tells anybody with a brain what exactly happened.

There was never a fucking ruse. The game was close to completion no matter how you looked at it as 51 brought closure to liquids arc and sahalanthropus. This and the coat of polish chapter 2 needed was rushed and disguarded. The fact Konami KNOWS even episode 51 alone would make bank, but have only expanded on superficial single player additions and multiplayer shows this.
