Makes sense, it's to reward the player for getting so close to the boss.
>>332968525
That's how it works in real life

Wouldn't making guns much less accurate in close combat be a better game mechanic?
>>332968525
When you're on the receiving end of it, I don't think there's an appreciable difference between two inches of steel jammed in your belly, and a bullet passing through you.
though honestly I'd have to ask for the context involved here, "gun" and "sword" are rather vague about what exactly we're talking about.
>>332969134
Dont be silly, guns are Dex, you don't get any benefits from Str to handle a gun. You're maneuverability let's you Dodge recoil.

>Gun benefiting from str

Nice multi-tiered bait
A sword is literally a bullet that's 100x the size and razor sharp. Of course it'll do more damage.
>A fully armored tank with a giant sword does LESS damage than a thief/hobo in rag with a knife

Me too.
EVERYONE should be 'dps', and have heavy armor focus on blocking and absorbing hits where as light armor focuses on dodging them, and when I say blocking and dodging, I don't mean an arbitrary number, I mean have a block and dodge button. BDOs block system makes me happy inside.

How long do you have to hit the block again?

Show me a gun that can cut someone in half.
