I dabbled somewhat on the PS3. Pirated a lot of nippon only PSP games though

The Mega Memory won't start up with certain Gameboy games attached. Another I know of is Dragon Quest 3.
Apparently the Retrode (with Gameboy plugin adapter) also can't read/write Seiken 1 or SaGa 1's save data so there may be something unusual about those games.
The only game I have ever imported is IA/VT Colorful because it was never going to be released here due to licensing issues. I'll probably import more rhythm games (such as the vita taiko game) as they are the easiest to play without knowing any nip.
Well, I pirate them. Doesn't matter if it's original hardware or emulation.
I have Dead or Alive Extreme 3 and Puyo Puyo Tetris on order and I preordered the english versions of Gundam Breaker 3 and SRW: Moon Dwellers. That's pretty much the only games I'm importing though
