As fun as vanilla wow is, it is shit compared to what SWG was in its glory days. A horse ≠ a house where you put up trophies of rancor heads or display your composite armor, having a ship, and exploring new planets. SWG had loads of more content.

There was none of that in SWG. every piece of armor, every gun, every stimpack you bought was crafted from a player who decided the price. Imagine if every vendor in WoW was ran by a player and it worked like their own private auction house.

I remember watching my country's morning show thing on TV where they had a family on who were all playing WoW and they were talking about how Burning Crusade was about to release. I really thought the game looked cool and fun but couldn't afford the monthly subscription. Never got into WoW.

MMOs are only entertaining when you are a dumb kid and were still easily impressed by every little thing.
You are never going to have an MMO that will rekindle your dying and or already dead sense of wonderment.
You will know what is to be expected.
You will know how things general work.
You will know how things will generally progress build/character wise.
You will know how things will generally progress "story" wise.
You will know how things will generally pan out "end game" wise.
You know what is going to happen.
There is nothing that can surprise you, excite you, or make you wonder how they managed to do it all.
You can lie to yourself and convince yourself that MMOs are still cool, but you know deep down inside they are not.

Same. I also have some of that silly nostalgia for vanilla WoW (played in the beta as well) and really was amazed by my first online PC multiplayer experience (Rainbow Six).
All of it is trash now. I just play singleplayer games and occasionally enjoy some coop. I just realized I haven't played a single video game in 3+ weeks.
