One is easy to get into, the other is complicated and hard as hell to learn.

Truth be told, I hate Dota period. It fucking ruined the custom games community on Warcraft 3. You used to be able to found a variety of mods until people started spamming Dota lobbies.
I still play the fuck put of league but I think it's spring break atm so it's been the worst fucking game ever lately. Every match, kids calling each other by their real names and using the phrase "skype call". And if they feed or do something retarded, it's "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL" or "sorry"
I can't stand it.

Does League still centre the camera on the player as default? That might explain why players think they need to have a UI that's as small as possible. In Dota players are expected to move the camera constantly, not just to see the 10% extra that's blocked by the UI but the entire map.

Most things are casual about HotS but the lategame respawns are insanely punishing. They're not much shorter than in Dota but the map is so small and the buildings so weak that one core pickoff is GG every time on the traditional maps.

Going from 5 seconds at level 1 to 60 late game is scaling super fast and most people don't seem to get it in their heads that deaths should be avoided by playing safer and sticking with the team unless you know you're going to get a worthwhile trade.
