Playing too many video games, while it can put you in deep shit, is not but it's not nearly as bad as addiction is. I had the opposite problem in WoW and SWG when that was a thing, I couldn't force myself to play enough to get to the "good" part and ultimately never really levelled a character very far past the halfway ponit or so.
I think my highest level character in vanilla WoW was level 36 or so and in SWG I wanted to be a bounty hunter and got master marksman but master scout was so fucking boring to level I never finished it.
