Vanilla Alterac Valley (before the shitty nerf patch) was amazing.

Because it has actual fun gameplay, and pvp. Well, it did in vanilla and BC. Since then, they dumbed down the gameplay and the pvp stopped being fun to appease whiners and casuals.
I don't care about beating all the content or whatever, I just play WoW for the pvp. I play on a vanilla private server and heavily enjoy it.

There's really not that many, maybe a couple of them. Sorry vanilla WoW actually felt like a real mmo, and real world, rather than just easy mode smash your way to max level with no effort.

I'm with this guy. I'm still playing Vanilla on Nostalrius and it's great, the leveling experience is great, the dungeons are great as well.
It feels like a world and not like a game, as Wrath onwards does (and even BC to some extent) because there's no 'point' to it. All the expansions have a final boss (illidan/kiljaeden, arthas, deathwing and so on) so it feels like people are trying to get to something.
Vanilla has nothing like that, it's just 'here's 2 continents, go level and do stuff and talk to people'. You make your own game out of it.
On top of that I love the ridiculous itemization, people who complain about stupid stats are people who want more of a 'game' feel I guess, but every time I see a stupid item in the game it makes me laugh. Like that sword you get from a q in the Wetlands that can only be used if you have 100 herbalism, every time I see that I'm like 'wow, vanilla had some great ideas behind it'.
And yes it's unbalanced and some stuff is badly put together, especially talents, but again that's part of the charm for me. Shamans are a trainwreck and yet one of my mains is a shaman because the leveling and the class quests are so great and immersive.
