I believe the intent of this demo was to be an interactive tech demo more so than anything else. Just to show off the graphics, a few maps with texture and foliage, draw distance, physics, how driving would feel, ect. The battles were secondary at best. If you don't draw your weapon the monsters won't even initiate an attach except for the Iron Giant. Who is silly easy to defeat. FFXV is more complex when it comes to controls though, where as Kingdom Hearts' complexit comes from all the growth abilites and all the different combo finsihers
Kh still feels a little more accurate for now esepcially the dodge roll, but that's because the framrerate and frametime in the demo is horrible, you can barely time a roll

So this is it huh? /v/ filled with Casuals? While most of the demo IS filler tech demo shit, that final fight with the golem and the vastly improved combat system makes it all worth it.
Seriously, you niggas can do aerial combat, all sorts of blocks and dodges, each weapon has multiple special moves, and a surprising amount of depth for a stripped down demo.
Oh, and if you do use the right timing, YOU CAN perfect dodge cancel from MOST attack animations- there are some that you can't (mostly great sword), air attacks you must use an aerial rave dodge, which has more strict timing and doesn't require any presses of square at all. Not every attack can be dodged by holding down square. Some attacks you must have pressed square within a certain time frame of the enemies attack.
I uploaded some videos of me doing fun stuff in the fight, maybe it can inspire you fags to not be total casuals and to try and learn the game.

The MP limitation is a fun killer game can be fast ones you figure out its inputs and weapon properties but you burn MP at a stupid rate. Yes the Iron Giant just melts wen you start playing like that but I don't want to stop mid combo wen he can't even move do to stun to go get MP.
Roll/block needs to cancel better and be far more responsive. As it stands warping into things is just far more effective and lets you keep offensive momentum that along with air movement with the short sword and shuriken makes roll kind of shit.

Not really. Plenty of beasts have to deal with different ways to beat an enemy. The Eidolions are a whole different thing onto itself compared to the Berserkers, Giant Wolves, or Wyrverns.

I could do everything he did in those videos in the demo. There is no depth to the combat. Block and parry then punish, air warp to reset "footing" and attack again. Press O repeatedly instead of holding it for string combos. There are no air launchers, grappling moves, "linker" moves, hit cancels, animations that can only be done through weapon switching and using weapons that link into each other (which would be a good mechanic for a game full of weapon switching), delayed magic traps, or precise timing counters.
There is no depth to the combat. It's shit.
