The core mechanics are amazing. The way you control Snake is perfect.
The game play really just suffered from uninspired mission design. There were no fun missions like in Peace Walker
Now imagine Snake Eater with TPP mechanics...
MGS was never good.
Potential happening with MGS V by the way; check their Twitter. It keeps changing every 10 mins. Recently they added more bug codes and the green shit on Venom's face keeps growing.
