Why would Chandelure get nerfed? Do people really have that big of a problem blocking? I haven't got to play online much (Currently rank E2), and every Chandelure I have fought as Machamp isn't too bad. They just spam the laser beam and i block then dash forward or just do a j. X.
Is it because I am still in scrub league?

Just learn the triangle. Once you get the hang of it the game becomes very easy against AI, and I have no problem in the E league. My win rate is around 85%.

Also do the tutorials. I tried jumping right into ranked matches without understanding field transitions or anything so that sucked. The tutorial shouldn't take more than like 30 minutes for all 5. Maybe do the combo dojo for your main too just to get some basics do .

What do you think? Later on it gets much harder but still manageable. I play pikachu so I have a easier time than most any bad laser I can punish from full screen and I can poke from outside overheat's range with (X,X). I can imagine for some pokemon especially yours it will get really tough.

I have an honest question.
My friend has been watching streams of Pokken since release just to see what it's about.
He said like 95% of everyone who plays online use Machamp.
Why?

Well I assumed it would get harder obviously. Like I said I haven't got to play much so I don't even know what his move set looks like. Everything I've seen so far is basically just an easy block or dodge. I didn't know about the half screen grab. That does sound crazy.
Main problem I have had is with Suicine. Twice I have fought people that, once it goes to duel phase, use the beam for spacing. Easy enough to block and move, but the pop up attack from the ground got. Admittedly it is more bad play from me than a problem with that move set. A forward x would get around the start up frames I think. I just got put into a panic.
I assumed that was the problem people were having with Chandelure. The whole not knowing how to react in the moment thing.

I use Machamp because he is one of my favorite Pokémon. A lot of people are using him for his strong combos and stuff from what I have heard. I rarely have mirror matches though. I see Blaziken and Pikachu the most.

Hes great early game and its not uncommon to leave E rank with a 80%+ W/L hes basically a huge ego boost but you will get humbled so quick climbing up.

The hitbox on Chandelure's half-screen grab is tiny, though. Yes, it can theoretically connect from half a screen away, but it can only connect when you're a very precise distance away from Chandelure, and most of the Chandelure players I've fought have a really hard time figuring out that distance (so they just throw it out blindly in the hopes that it'll connect).
