Yeah but isn't it only said by that mage if you go Iorveths route and do that specific quest? You get a book which is sealed by power magic and that mage blacksmith wants it, but you can decline. He says it'd take weeks to break open. I had hoped Witcher 3 would allow you to keep it and break it open, see what's in it. Alas, it did not.
Other than that, I do not know how Geralt got involved with the Wild Hunt. Was he just captured and forced into doing it? I remember in Witcher 3 it says they did it to lure Ciri out, but it failed. Then Ciri helped free you both.
Also, Geralt didn't die at the end of the books. Re-read it. It said he was dying, Yennefer did some shit to save him, Ciri then teleported Geralt, Yen and her away to Island of Avalon or whatever. Which the game then said you survived, but were captured by the Wild Hunt.
I don't get how Letho and Geralt got involved with fighting the Wild Hunt. How did that happen? Why did it happen? It must have happened before he got stabbed....
