Why do people like this game?
I tried playing this and Fallout 2 and they are horrible. I have been playing PC games since the 80's so its not because its simply "Old". If this game played more like Diablo or Nox it might have been ok but they are just horrible.
Im glad they changed them to First Person. Loved Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and recently started playing New Vegas and enjoying it.
Why didnt't you like them? Fallout 2 is easily the best game I've ever played

Character-progression focused story-driven RPGs, what's not to get.
My biggest problem with the shift to first person is the lack of movement strategy. In Fallout 1/2 positioning was key, in 3/4/NV you're either kiting or pushing, not even strafing is a viable option.
That said I don't find the gameplay itself to be as inherent to the genre as RPG Codex fags think it is.

They have far more choice and freedom.
Because of the organic, rewarding exploration. Because of the build and gamplay style variety which make repeated playthroughs fun as fuck. Because of the godtier soundtracks, atmosphere and world building.

I find fallout 2 a lot better that fallout 4. Why do you find it horrible? It is a good rpg that was in a post-apocalyptic retro-future setting that wasn't seen before. At her epoch, it was an innovative.
