It's a decent game overall, but it's definetly my least favorite in the series. In all honesty I enjoyed BB the most. DS1 is quite a bit better than 2 and even DeS imo is a bit more enjoyable too.
I like that you meet a straight up severed head merchant in the woods that tells you he has visions of his body still kicking about killing shit, and you get to fight it eventually and go back and tell him about it. And he's grateful.
