The game isn't balanced for hard mode. They just buffed enemy stats so they hit harder, take less damage and move twice for each of your turns.
Best strategy here is to spam speed break with one mon and penetrating attacks with the other two. Also equip some sleep guard DX.

This. I beat the game on hard and I feel i might've enjoyed the game more on normal. Hard pretty much forces you to play the game a specific way and the boss fights are a fucking chore with how much hp/defence they have.

There is a turn delay after the attack. With no healer or others the delay will fuck you over. Accel Boost then Pierce is more effective than using two consecutive piercing attacks.
