That's more than an entire PS4. You'd have to be insane to buy that. Assuming you build the rest of your PC to not be bottlenecked and include things like a good monitor, m&kb, speakers and gaming chair, you're looking at $5000. All for a rig that will be outdated in 3 years because of Moore's law.

Nintendo's jumping ship cause the wii u is an abysmal failure sales wise. I don't think sony actually cares what nintendo is up to with their console as there's no talk of the nx being more powerful than the ps4, all I've heard is possibly on par with the xbox one. Of course, if the wireless hdmi rumors are true, sony may end up burping out another update to steal awesome technology, like the whole move thing.

This is a very, very tough lesson for people to learn, but it's a good one. Sony isn't PS2-era Sony anymore. You can't just buy in day one and be comfortable knowing you're going to get a ton of great games.
Do not even think about buying a console until it has a certain amount of games you want to play. Not announced, not almost ready, but at retail.
The industry is getting really weird and really hardcore. You've got people who own more than one console just so they have one for the living room, one for the bedroom. There's a real incentive for a platform holder to want to sell addicted rubes like that lots of profitable consoles and more often.
