I just finished Xenoblade Chronicles X.
So what the fuck? Do I have to wait another 5 years for a sequel or are all these shenanigans explained in the post game?

Nothing or almost nothing gets explain in the post game regarding the cliffhanger in the ending, but there are a lots of other interesting story arcs that open through quests after finishing the game.

God damn it. I really dont want to be kept waiting for another half a decade just to find out whats the deal with Mira and how all the bullshit at the end works. Great game, easily my favorite of 2015 though. I just hope they have a stronger focus on story and characters like XC had next time around.

You shouldn't need to grind in this game for anything other than defeating the optional superbosses in the post game, if you just do the normal missions and affinity missions that you find you should be more than fine for each story mission.

I really hope Xenoblade 3 is a completely different story that, even if in the same universe, has nothing to do with X. I liked X well enough but I want Monolith to move forward from it.

Xenoblade Chronicles wrapped up pretty nicely. No real loose ends there unless you needed to know just how theuniversal remaking machine worked. Which is a detail that isnt really that crucial. While in XCX's case the crucial detail is still pretty well completely shrouded in mystery.
