I think they'll both be pretty cool games, but everyone will view them in the context of series with loads of games in them, and nitpick every little detail. Ultimately, they won't be seen for what they are, no one will have any fun, and no one will be happy.

I have more faith in FF, which is weird to say.
Regardless of all the nonsense surrounding the games production and marketing, from what I've played and seen its a decently fun ARPG with a cool setting, a decent story and a likable cast. It wont be the best game in the series but after FFXIII Square needed to find their sense of direction again and this was a decent one to take, as long as the sequel doesn't take another 10 years to make.
We know nothing about Zelda U and given Nintendo's usual attitude I have a fear that the whole gimmick of it will just be "it's open world and has a bigger world than Twilight Princess!" because they have a terrible habit of ignoring industry trends and the idea of a large game world is probably still novel to them. When they're advertising waypoints as features in their pre-release stuff I'm worried.
