when FFXII was made, it was a huge clusterfuck of infighting among devs, the company had to be heavily restructured due to the conflict XII was causing.
when the game finally came out, that was the end for traditional jrpg FF. they turned their focus entirely to cgi and grafix and particle effects and nothing they've done since has been a decent traditional FF game
and of course neither will this.
