Just finished Lisa for the first time. That was a ride, teared up a little at the end of the joyful.
Combat was kinda boring, it had me backtracking a lot and the music was offensive to my ears but I really fell in love with the storytelling and characters. I was also a big fan of how subtle the meta humor was as opposed to a certain other game people like to compare lisa to.I'm looking for the "my daughter ain't free" etc image of spurdo brad and I can't find it anywhere. Help me.
Nice blog.
i had a pretty fun time with LISA
wish there was more fanart, but eh

Looking forward to it.

>the music was offensive to my ears
Literal fucking plebeian.
>>332589869
>music was offensive to my ears
that's the only good thing about the joyful

oh man that screeching feels so good in my ears ahhhh I love it
>>332589869
>the music was offensive to my ears
The music was great, you shitfucker.
>>332590884
>he didn't play LISA with the audio on max and his speakers turned all the way up
Get a load of this joy boy.
Still looking forward to an update on Dingaling's next game.
would you a buddy?
>>332589869
I wish that Buddy didn't start out as a total sociopath in The Joyful, but the whole ending nightmare sequence still got to me.
All I wanted was to be bros with Rando.
>>332591610
as someone that grew up with some serious daddy issues, oh man i did not need to feel that, i cry abit every time
We really need to start getting more people into Lisa
>>332591335
To be fair... the creator himself admitted he knew almost nothing about making music and just made some stuff up in FL studio in 2 days or something
Better have played The First. It's the best one.
>>332590884
bad taste detected
>>332592525
Something I find absolutely incredible and downright inspiring for anyone that's interested in trying their hand at music production.
And if memory serves correct it he either used the trial version or bought some edm samples and drum loops and cranked it out in a couple of months.
>>332592752
it's barely even connected to the others
>>332592890
it is you who has bad opinions
>>332592965
Hate to be a hipster, but I played it before the others existed. Probably why I like it so much. He didn't have to shoehorn the plot into the new games but he did, so they're still connected.
>>332590884
That shit's great dude, I don't know what you're talking about
If "intentionally unpleasant" isn't the best possible kind of music for that game then I don't know what is
>>332591610
This. I had tears all over my face for the ending, but i really wanted to see Buddy have her own moments instead of going full Ow the Edge
>>332592752
>Lisa The First
It's interesting and disturbing, but can be pretty frustrating to get through.
>>332593360
I get that it's intentionally unpleasant, but with that in mind how can you call it amazing? Hold on, a food analogy will surely fix this.
>>332589869
>the music was offensive to my ears
nigga
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTKOah18x0g
>>332594169
there was definitely a couple good tracks but for every one of those I could post one with rhythmless screeching and airhorns
>>332594117
>>332594429
It's bombastic anon, I don't know what else to tell you especially if you didn't like the airhorns.
>>332589869
>music was offensive to my ears
what the fuck Lisa has one of my very favorite soundtracks
>>332594578
>especially if you didn't like the airhorns
I feel like you're fucking with me.
>>332593678
>wanted to see Buddy have her own moments instead of going full Ow the Edge
Seconded. It makes sense that she would hate the world after everything that's happened, and she's already hopped up on Joy, but I would have liked to see more of a transition into her losing her morality.
Having the story open up with her murdering a bunch of pacifists, and tearing down the one guy trying to help her, started her out at rock bottom from the get-go.
>>332594429
>Airhorns
Pretty sure there was only one or two songs with airhorns, and it's the greatest audio experience ever conceived
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZuI3ZkCHfs
I personally like how the ost's discordant tracks fit the more surreal moments, but I can see why it wouldn't resonate with everyone.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeRwLwBah1Y
The somber credits music was probably my favorite.
>>332594880
but no, the airhorns are the worst part of the song by far and it would be better without them
>>332594880
damn this shit is absolute sex
>>332594768
I'm not. The tracks feel like he just said "fuck it" and went batshit crazy with what he was doing. The majority of his tracks come off as pulse-pounding and energetic, and I absolutely love it. They're not masterpieces, but they're very unique and executed well.
>>332590884
C'mon even if you like Vidya OST you can't defend this shit, my fucking Gameboy had better music
>>332590098
Who was the most tragic in the end?
>>332595391
it's really not my kind of thing. there was too many times a track got really fucked up and I squinted my eyes and frowned waiting for it to get to a part that wasn't as difficult to listen to
>>332595563
>that smeared lipstick
>>332589869
>music was offensive to my ears
Painful ending > Joyful ending.
Joyful was a mistake except for Lincoln and Sindy Gallows.
>>332589869
the only game i bought on steam and i don't fucking regret it
>>332589869
DLC was fanfic-tier dogshit, but LISA the Painful RPG was fantastic
BIG FUCKING LINCOLN
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWHxy2nFW4k
>>332589869
And undertale outsold it 10 to 1. Disgraceful.
>>332595953
Lisa makes me sad.
>>332597305
That helped keep the fanbse pure...well more pure than Undertale's at least.
>>332597305
it's ok someday people will realise that LISA was best than undertale i like both but i take LISA on my hearth
>>332597305
Hey I loved Lisa, but it's not too surprising that a series about the tragic ends of child rape and drug abuse wasn't made for mass market appeal.
>>332596856
I want a Big Lincoln game
>>332597305
Yeah, everyone knows the inheritent worth of a thing is directly proportional to it's immediate popularity.
>>332592035
Need more sibling teamwork.
So did Brad abandon Dusty after the incident with Buzzo? Or did they just grow distant after the apocalypse hit?
>>332599395
Fun-fact: That "Huh-uh" sound effect in LISA is actually used three different ways:
- A manly sound effect
- Lisa throwing up in LISA: The First (slowed up a bit to sound like a kit)
- The sound effect that plays for mutant fights and when Brad turns into a human (slowed down a lot)
>>332600825
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckZlj2p8W9M
Also surprisingly one of the best songs
>>332600825
Wasn't it a sound effect taken from Shenmue 2 as well?
I wonder if it's possible to get in trouble over a small detail like that.
>>332600825
>when brad turns into a human
Lisa doesn't seem very joyful to me.
>>332601351
They're not joyful but they're full of joy.
>>332601351
You can't feel joy when you're dead.
So was Olathe just a controlled experiment?
>>332601351
>TFW get people copies of Lisa the Complete edition whenever it goes on sale
>TFW NONE of them have played it
They will never know the Joy of burning down a pack of orphans and so much more.
>>332603238
I wasn't sure if Olathe was the country or the name for the entire world, but the implication seems to be that the White Flash affected all of humanity.
Though it's never explained why Buzzo mentioned other women.
>>332603757
I could never get into the game, and I regret that because it seems like its really good.
>>332603894
Olathe is a city in Kansas
>>332603757
>spreading the joy
Doing God's work anon.
>>332604150
Maybe it's just where the first Joy experiments took place then?
