Because there is no definitive best one. Hopefully MH5G will cover all its bases and can be called the best of the series when it rolls around for FU, 3U, 4U, and Generations all have ups and downs compared to one another. Tencent trash need not apply.

Thank god my friends and I decided to go the extra mile and look into the Japanese version.
Feel good not touching a character for nearly 3 years and having it still be safe and sound.

Only worth playing on a N3DS though for the crispy 60fps. O3DS and 2DS will play at a choppy 30fps, and it shows.

Well yes, it was more an excuse to post that image.
Personally I put Tri lower than most of the games because while it did do a good job with most of the content, it suffers from trying to reinvent the wheel as it were.
A great game alone, but for me when stacked up against even something like P3rd it feels sparse, and I tend to value the games more on their total content than anything else.
It wins big time points in terms of the total upgrades and tweeks however.
Also, in a total pet peeve part, it was the first game to really spark the muh gen > your gen stuff that continues to this day, like how we still can't see a game where Kut-Ku and Quro are together.
