shitty watered down version of MTG.

I guess anything can be competitive if you want it to lmao. Such a shit game

More like Jewstone

You can always buy with in-game currency :^)
>>
I mean it's fun, but it's quite simple and relies on luck. Bots have made it to the top leagues before

>tfw got to rank 14 in ranked with my warlock
>never paid money for any cards

>all these opponents with legendaries

Is this the end?
>>
>>332575427

It's fun but theres no reason to keep playing it.

I got legend once and now what is the fucking point? I have the best card back and my main class is gold. I have to work to hard to get new cards and shit for it to be worth it.

They need another progression system.
>>
It's fun to waste time in but anyone who takes this randomfest seriously as an esport is a fucking idiot
>>
pay2win
>>
>>332577024
I don't think you can with this one. I see no option to do so.
>>
Pay2win shit.

>b-but you don't have to spend any money, you can be competitive without spending anything
Not for long. And pay2not-grind is still p2w. Given equal time investment, the player who spends money will always have access to a wider variety of cards (and therefore more options for deckbuilding and strategy) than the player who spends nothing.
>>
>>332577297
Not that anon but go into solo adventures and there should be an option to buy with in-game gold
>>
Your average card game.

Shit.
>>
>>332577138
>play casual
>play a mirror match against malfurion
>this fucker plays legendaries and rare cards every tour.
>still kick his ass with common cards

Truly a magnificent game
>>
>>332577138
Back when I started I hit rank 4 with zero legendaries. This was pre-naxx, but a couple of good rares can go a long way. You can even hit legend now with a very cheap midrange hunter if you play enough and get good matchups.
>>
>>332577463
Ah yeah, you can individually purchase challenges.
>>
Fun to play on the shitter.
>>
>>332577384
The problem as I see it is that old players have a huge headstart to new players no matter if they spend money or not. Now they are going to enter into the format dinamic or retiring old sets, making it even harder for new players to get in without spending.
>>
>>332577384
I've hit legend a couple times while only buying one expansion with real dosh. Started in beta though
>>
>>332575427
Nothing to do no your opponent's turn, extremely boring, mostly luck based, cards and art are cool.
Played for a bit, but just stopped because it ain't fun.

That's exactly how the system works.

Go ahead and make a grand new account with a disposable email address, when you start your online games against actual players, you'll get three games against real beginners

then they throw you head first into the pool with all of the other players

I made three accounts doing this, and had the exact same result
>>
>>332577384
Not really, you just have to play cheap decks. There are pros who made new accounts and hit legend within a month
>>
>>332578061
>>people busting out legendaries
Oh hey that was another thing, the legendaries are boring, there are no real complex interactions in this game and it suffers for it.
>>
My friend plays it all the time and he loves it
He"s a bit retarded tho so i guess this game is perfect for his IQ
>>
Like all of Blizzard's recent games, I found myself enjoying it for a week or so. Then I had no desire to engage with it whatsoever.
>>
>>332578061
You can get to 14 - 15 with a basic deck.
>>
>>332577720

I don't get this. Can I get a serious response? What did you guys expect exactly when trying out this CARD GAME? Is this your first? Have you guys tried any of the larger ones that set the standard for the genre?

Like what did you guys actually expect? This is literally how the genre works.
>>
>>332585152
I expected half of the cards to not involve chance to see if their effects trigger at all or don't have a significantly weakened effect. There's no way to guarantee strategy when your cards can't work consistently.
>>
>>332582929
Mabinogi Duel is fucking great.
>>
Why do people want /v/'s opinion so much? You can lurk here for a day and realize its always gonna be boiled down to shitposting and "It's shit" "It's for cucks" "It's 30 frames only"

All I'm trying to say is: Just formulate your own opinion on the games you play, like them or hate them, quit seeking /v/'s hive-minded opinions.
>>
>>332585628
But that's apart of the base mechanics of the game. The RNG I mean. Just drawing cards from the deck alone is what you are complaining about.

The whole point of card games is RNG and mitigating the RNG by your choice of cards during deck building.

a card does 3 damage randomly to all targets? They you mitigate it by making the opponent have more targets than you.

etc etc

post cards you have trouble with so we can tell you how to mitigate it's RNG, the same way it works in any cardgame.

For the memes. Like you said if you lurk here you already know what responses you'll get. It's sort of like when people post dota vs lol threads. The only people not having fun in those threads are the ones who don't play either and complain about how shitty the thread is. The best part is one upping the other guy in a shit flinging memefest.

If you aren't having fun you need to lurk moar before you join in.

Not enough cards printed yet, a lot of the cards that have been printed are complete shit, blizzard is milking this cow for all the shekels it can

Still I play it regularly and sometimes find it enjoyable, mostly I stay in it in the hopes that once there are a shit ton more cards deck variety will increase and I'll have more fun in the future

I don't play mage or have ever used this card but off the top of my head the effect tells me you should focus on the fact that it's a spell card that replaces it self with a creature. You should not expect to psuedo ramp with this but it is a strong possibility. you can mitigate the RNG of this card by focusing on the fact that you get two play two cards with this, one being a spell card and one being a creature card. Combo it with cards that take advantage of the fact and you'll see you can mitigate it. Basically focus less on the fact that you randomly get any minion and instead focus on the fact that you get a minion.

Pretend the common version of this card was add a 2/2 that costs 2 mana and remove the part that reduces cost.
>>
>>332575427

>you're in a bar with your cardfu
>when suddently this thing slaps you're cardfu ass
>how do you react?
>>
>>332589479
How did you even get that lol?

Let me clarify this for you

Focus on the following

It's a spell card. When you cast it any cards that you have that trigger whenever you cast a spell go off. Some cards that come to mind are antonidas, auctioneer, that 3/5 that summons 1/1

The second CONSTANT of this card is that you will always get a minion. The VARIABLE is that this minion will either come out with pseudo ramp or be a costless minion.

Cards that benefit from you summon a minion get triggered of this part.

Lastly since the card replaces itself (+0) it also works with cards that work on handsizes. Basically what I'm saying is that if you use it as is hoping to get a broken card for less than 3 mana then the card is being underused and you will feel "FUG RNG" when it doesn't go your way. You can mitigate this.
>>
Anyone can hit legend with a basic face deck. Pure fucking cancer and boring as hell, but it works.

You're gonna lose, a lot, but it's probably possible.

Blizzard actually seems to care about the integrity of the game this expansion.

Standard ranked sounds like it might actually be not shit for once.

The hardest component of most card games is deckbuilding. Of course hearthstone is much much easier in this regard.

But actually playing the decks? You're fucking delusional if you think mtg is particularly harder to play than hearthstone.
