Who do you think initially supported all of this corruption in the first place? The big publishers themselves. Once they left for the e-celeb and youtube scene, gaming sites had to devolve into further degeneracy to get their views, like through clickbait articles. They pushed the SJW shit because of this - not because they wanted to, but it was the only way that a good deal of them could survive after youtube usurped them.
So yes, that area of corruption is finally crumbling, but we have a new facet tanking its place, and that's e-celeb and youtube shit. Pewdipie, Game Theory, all of the e-celebs that are paid by corporations to advterise certain games as another form of advertisement and so on.

99% of them were proved false when the real leaks happened.
