Does anyone else here cringe when they hear people wanting to have prequel era content in the new battlefront? The whole clone wars thing sounds like a poorly written fan fiction for children.

The only things I liked in episode 1 were the darth maul duel, and the original republic design. Episode 2 was absolute irredeemable trash. Episode 3 was pretty good after the first half hour or so. But the majority of the sequel content including character design is garbage.

I agree, but the Tatooine sequence in Ep 2 is actually very good. The whole part when Anakin learns that his mother is gone and goes to find her is well handled. The rest of the movie is pretty laughable though

I always thought it was interesting how it was Anakin's job to "bring balance" to the force. What does that even mean? Doesn't balance imply that the Sith would still have to exist? If it's just Jedi, that isn't balance at all.
I agree that the Sith in the prequels are portrayed pretty poorly. Their mandate is based on objective strength though, which is interesting. Basically if you are better than your master, you have an obligation to try to take them out, and the master shouldn't have an issue with it because they were weaker.

The Force Awakens kinda weakens Vader's whole arc; he didn't really bring balance to the force after all and it makes the whole thing seem like a big bait-and-switch. But I suspect by the end of the new trilogy, Kylo Ren will realize he's being misled by Snoke, and he'll get what Vader's death was actually all about.

so it's pretty much just the middle finger to me as a fan of that particular game. It may not be a terrible game, but for what I was looking for in the franchise, it's was incredibly disappointing, almost irrelevant, like the game wasn't even made by people interested in it's history.

Prequels were shit films but the one thing they were good for were the Clone Wars cartoons and video games. Honestly, the Jedi being so super prominent was one of the bigger but more underlying issues of the Prequels. They really shouldn't have been as widespread and populous as they were. It makes having them be almost extinct by the time of the GCW seem super convenient and contrived, hence Order 66 being super convenient and contrived. That kind of setting really worked the best in KOTOR and that was cause it was set thousands of years in the past when the Republic and the Jedi Order were at it's peak.
But I digress, Luke was the only Jedi kicking it in the GCW and his story of killing the evil warlock Emperor can easily be seen as a war legend passed on by his close friends.

I do not understand the hate for this game. It is strides ahead of whatever Battlefront III would of been, even with the 'lack of content.' I have played this game daily since launch and love just about every minute of it. The graphics and sound design are top fucking notch, the gameplay is smooth as silk, and now with the free maps and first DLC package this game has lots to offer for a Multiplayer shooter. The large maps are very unique and have so many different dynamics to them they are almost like 3 or 4 maps in one. While the smaller maps are perfect counterparts to their larger brothers. So what we don't have a story mode, if you want a Star Wars story watch the fucking movies or read one of the dozens of comics or novels. This game is about BATTLING it out in the EPIC WAR.

It's more about the gameplay potential of having prequel content. I'm not a fan of the prequels myself but the previous two Battlefront games had some great stuff pulled from the prequels, including character classes that were unique and played nothing like the Galactic Civil War-era classes.
