I don't think the PC gaming market is ever going to accept Apple's prices. The packaging just isn't worth the added expense and historically Apple has had very little interest in gaming. Maybe that's changing with all the money they've been making selling phone shit on iOS. I think Apple would do better in the console space, but the margins probably aren't high enough for them to bother.

Not true, as soon as you need to do something remotely non-casual on a mac you need to get into terminal. I don't have anything against it but most people will. Also if you encounter some weird trouble you are unlikely to find solution on the net, or it would take much more time than to solve it on windows.

Unfortunately OS X is crippled for gaming by Apple who would rather push gaming off to their mobile platforms. So you only get OpenGL 4.1 support and Apple's proprietary Metal API which lacks features like Tessellation.
GNU/Linux is where the real future of PC gaming lies after the desktop Windows EOL. OpenGL 4.5 with proprietary drivers, OpenGL 4.2 with the Open Source drivers (Intel is still stuck at 3.3 though lol), and support for Vulkan the new open industry standard.
OS X still has a lead in total number of games, but Linux is gaining rapidly as it will pass the 2000 released titles mark on Steam this week.

Keep living in denial. Apple's OpenGL 4.1 support is even slower than Catalyst. The Open Source drivers already have patches to enable OpenGL 4.2 support and are also getting close to 4.3 support. The only outstanding features that there aren't patches for to my knowledge are compute shaders (the work is ongoing) and robust buffer access (don't think its started).

Its likely that all the robustness extensions will be added at once. It doesn't make much sense to work on the 4.3 extension without also doing the 4.5 extensions as well. Core Mesa is one feature away from 4.3 compliance, two features away for 4.4, and three features for 4.5.
