Playing Kings Quest V and I can't save anymore.
Looked around for some fixes, but the way I tried them didn't work.
Anyone know exactly what you're supposed to do?
Also point and click thread I guess
You're supposed to not play Sierra games, that's what you're supposed to do.
Fuck adventure games, can't believe I used to like them.

It literally tells you to save over older saves, so what is the issue?
There is no fix for this, at least not that I know of.

Or change directory.
And it's current year, obviously I have enough space saved.
There were some solutions online, but they didn't work.

that doesn't matter when the engine for KQ is absolute garbage. I'm guessing here but there are 2 possible problems:
1. they put a hardcap on saves (incompetence)
2. they can't calculate the available space because they're using a wrong value type. (lack of foresight)
If you can find the saves on your pc, just create a directory and put older saves there. When necessary, copy them back into the actual directory. tada.

Seriously though OP are you playing the game in ScummVM or DOS?

dosbox

I think that was your first mistake right there.
ScummVM probably fixed that.

Doubt it, I watched the game grumps LP of some sierra games, and most of them have this same bug.
I think it's fixed at KQ VI, but that uses a newer iteration of the engine afaik.

Maybe.
Not quite sure why the fixes I found online didn't work though.
I think I can manage with the amount of saves I'm given though.
Finished with Desert and Witch and I don't think I missed anything.
Have one save before Petra, and one before Witch Forest.

Go for it, you can do it. Otherwise try my workaround.
making the map was fun for some strange reason
Didn't find a way to interact with the bluebird.
Will leave for the mountains now.
well played game
