Also, fun bit of advice if you weren't aware, you can turn the brush you're using into an eraser by just hitting that square near the active colors (or pressing "-" or whatever key you want to bind it to). Might be easier than switching to an individual brush, but then again I go back and forth between a transparent brush and an eraser brush so it doesn't really matter.
