The only things remotely interesting that utilize the Ripple's properties in Part 2 were the mufflers that Lisa Lisa and Straits wore and Caesar's bubbles, the latter of which felt like a prototype Stand power with how flimsy the reasoning is for how he can even use them like that.
All of Joseph's tricks and weapons, while using Hamon, were more about using an object as deadly weaponry, but even then it was mostly LOL ROPES. And even then, every fight goes exactly the same

The Spin was a much more interesting fighting style, both mechanically and visually, than the Ripple, which was largely just magnets and GOTTA PUNCH HARDER YOUR MUSCLES STILL HAVE OXYGEN IN THEM. Stands, while inconsistent, have a wider variety of uses but have exclusive powers from user to user. Out of every named Ripple specialist, very few did anything interesting or unique with it at all, to the point where the most punchghosty of Stands are more interesting. Part 5, especially, where Sticky Fingers apes Zoom Punch as a logical application of its ability.

It's more like Part 5, if anything, since everyone is either allied with the Higashikata household (and even then, they're at first enemies of Josuke) or the antagonistic group. Literally everyone involved has some relation to the plot, and it does have a plot to the point where every battle has some significance and consequence beyond "WE SURVIVED AND WE'RE A LITTLE CLOSER TO DIO/THE BOSS!" Part 6 is pretty good, but it's far from perfect.
Pucci is fantastic, he completely carried Part 6 for me and every time he showed up I was entertained, which is even more impressive for the fact that he has a lot of presence. The problem for me was the first half as well as the main crew. The fights and Stands were some of the worst in the series, making the first half a pain to go through. The cast was boring outside of Weather Report and he only got interesting towards the end. Jolyne was okay, but I didn't care about Annasui, Hermes, FF or Emporio at all. They had their moments but they were pretty underwhelming overall. I also hated Whitesnake and how it would oull so many abilities out of it ass.
The second half and all the crazy shit that happens in it makes pushing through the first half woth it though.

Well it's overdone now, that's for friggin sure, and it was overdone enough by the time part 3 was out that Araki realized it had to go. With Hamon you either change the rules of it every time you need a clever situation, or let it stagnate and become boring. Either way it loses it's impact and becomes boring. Stands change on an individual basis, so Araki can do whatever the hell he wants without it becoming clear jobbing, like changing stands over the course of parts 3 - 8 from direct combat to more supplemental utility.

The only real problem I have with stands fights are that they're there only for the sake of the fights themselves almost all the time.
In Part 1 and 2, almost every fight drives the story forwards somehow, where the later parts it's pretty much just stand of the week. I also think I would've liked it more if isn't long ass fights constantly back to back which gets a bit tiring.
Part of why I like Part 4 so much, since the pacing is a bit more relaxed and it's often people fucking around with stands in their day to day lives.

I really want Kir8 in a game just because I like his look and feel like he'd have a younger, colder voice. But yeah stands are confusing right now. Didn't someone say that Josuke's stand's use of bubbles was like Kira's, except Kira's were explosive? So why does (whatever his name is pre-Josuke) have literally Soft & Wet? It seemed like KQ was essentially KQ with Stray Cat built in, and Cowshithair had something similar to Crazy Diamond, and combined you got air bubbles combining properties of things or stealing them temporary before repairing them. Latest chapter makes it seem like Josuke literally ended up with the same stand.

Part 3 is in no way bad. People hate it because of the memes around it and how it's pretty much the face of JoJo at this point (Jotaro always being a main character in the crossover games like EOH and appearing on every merch ever) but it was still a good story with decent characters.Part 7 is just better though.

Jotaro sucks, Joseph was more fun in part 2, Kakyoin and Abdul are underutilized, Polnareff is basically the main character, half the stand fights feel like filler, and the pacing is really bad since very few of these fights actually advance the plot or provide some sort of character development it was just stand battle after stand battle until Araki felt like stopping.
