There are several different layers of problems with the ADD, actually. First is the very definition, or diagnosis, which is - like most similar conditions - generally really poorly made. However, most people diagnosing it don't know shit about it's causal structures. It's far easier to control a kid when it's basically baked the whole time. It does not, however, actually treat the causal pathologies. And there lies the other half of the pretty rotten issue: since people drugged up on ritalin are merely easier to manage, it has become HUGELY abused by people who simply can't deal with their own kids.
So ADD in America IS a huge pile of bullshit on bullshit, and the use of Ritalin is pretty much unwarranted and flat-out stupid most of the time. You can very clearly see that ADD is much more of a socio-political thing than actual medicine simply by noticing how it's epidemiology follows political trends and as it gets diagnosed sometimes up to TWENTY MORE TIMES in states with predominant liberal political views than in others: it's quite insane to see the gradient as it basically goes north-east to south-west.

Which once again points to a socio-political nature of the issue again.
If you live in Europe or Asia or even Australia, and you hear about somebody being diagnosed with ADD and given Ritalin, the odds are that it's a fair diagnosis, and while Ritalin does not cure the issue, it can make the patients life easier. But in America... well, here is a nice little tidbit for you: the introduction of DSM-IV alone somehow managed to broaden the diagnosis from average of 1-2% to a total 15% of all children, and the stats are growing way past that. This did happen while there was no further detailed differentiation done, neither were developed any other treatment methods other than Ritalin prescription.
The guy claiming that it's just a drug company conspiracy isn't entirely wrong. It sure as fuck isn't the whole story, but lobbying from drug companies did sure as fuck play a considerable role.

Unlike Diablo 3 Wind Waker was a good game. People eventually moved past the art because they liked the game itself, and I guess the art eventually grew on them.
