As someone that joined the drawthread just recently after a few months hiatus, I noticed it too. And while the thread became more toxic, the requests with anime-looking characters grew in quantity. When I left there were many anime-like requests too but now they are much more. Which is a shame, I learned not to draw any request like that (for the disappointment I used to cause to ORs) and to focus only in cartoony ones. So of course now I'm just here lurking.

Differing tastes in games. As a drawfag myself I only really draw characters I know, and I mostly play western games, I imagine alot of drawfags are the same.
If someone truely has a problem with the lack of requests relevant to them, requests specific things you want to draw, be it the game, character or subject matter. I imagine alot of people say theres no good requests, but wouldnt draw what was tailor made and thrown at them anyway, so whats the fucking point in complaining if you wouldnt do it either way.

Which kinda sucks for me, I can draw from real life - if I see it- somewhat ok, but I can't seem to transfer that knowledge to drawing from imagination. Oh well, gotta keep practicing I guess.
But how people draw elaborated dresses and just instinctively draw the wrinkles and folds correctly (or at least in such a way that it looks believable) amazes me every time.

It isn't as bad as you think it is. Her shoulders could be a little more narrow, but as for the cloth what I think went wrong was you tunnel visioned hard on the folds. Clothes only fold that much if they're wet because the moisture makes them stick to each other more than if it was dry. Dry fabric is affected more by gravity so it would hang off the body more than cling to it. The only places there should be folds are when the body suddenly tapers more than the fabric can cling to, like under the arms or at the abdomen. Good effort though.

You might be suffering from a case of copying what you see and not really thinking of why the material behaves in that way in that situation. You'll build an instinctual understanding over time, yes, but it isn't as efficient. Next time you do a study, don't just draw what you see, think about the underlying shapes, constructions and values and how they form the object you're studying.
