The E3 2013 sequence is all still in the game, Tabata even literally said just 2 days ago they are still making the game with the E3 2013 as the foundation for everything and he's said multiple times how that sequence with the Leviathan in Altissia is one of the most key sequences in the game.

The whole POINT of FF characters' outfits throughout the entire series is to be different flavors of "anime as fuck."
And even then, Noctis's new outfit drives me fucking crazy because he only wears one glove (fingerless at that.) I can understand one pauldron if it's on the shoulder your normal battle stance leaves exposed to the rear, but why only ONE glove!? So even when it tries to be "realistic" it's still manages to be anime as fuck, but in a very visually annoying way.
Wear two gloves or none at all. I don't even care if it's a pair of gloves or two different kinds of gloves, but jesus, don't go for asymmetry just for the sake of it.

Here's a breakdown of what I can tell is in the artwork, it looks to be both Summons and Monsters in the image, as well as Tenabrae to the left with the bloodmoon behind it (Luna is from Tenebrae), and the Regalia.
I think the woman on Diablos might be Aranea because it's similar color and design to her outfit but I can't tell who it is otherwise, and who is that knight holding the woman that looks like Terra?

I can't believe it's finally happening. I started playing FF with VI (III on a modded European SNES that could play American cartridges) and played every entry of the series since and the old ones as well.
FF XII was the first one that didn't do it for me event hough the setting was nice, but the story and characters were uninteresting. FF XIII didn't do it for me because of the corridor and again, uninteresting cast.
I've loved FF XIV as the homage it is to the old FF's, but for the first time since that first trailer over 10 years ago I'm genuinely excited for a main line entry.
Please let it be good. First I saw of this game was when I started uni, I've since graduated and been working for two years. I don't think I could handle disappointment if it falls short.

The main problem is that up to this point the marketing for XV has been complete shit, it relies too much on the active time report and anyone who doesn't watch them is completely fucked, the demo has a lot of mechanics missing but one wouldn't know if he wasn't up to par with all the informations and shit, not many even knows that said redundant boss has a completely new way of being defeated, in which you manually have to break the Behemoth's horn and sell it, not being neccessary to spend 30 minutes fighting the motherfucker

Playing FFX HD cured me of any turn-based/ATB nostalgia I might have had. People standing in line and letting monsters beat them up looks absolutely retarded in HD, not to mention it seriously fucks up the pacing of exploration. It works fine in SRPGs, handheld games, and those with very stylised super deformed artstyle, but godawful in anything with any kind of scale.

I think the thirteen trilogy helped Square Enix in the long run to get back on track. I fault them for going into a stream line direction, but I can't fault them for at least attempting something new and listening.
I don't know what the hell happen in Japan, but as of late Sega, Sony, and Square Enix are finally getting their shit together to a degree where they have apologized and started to create games that remind you of the glory days of the early 2000s. The fact Sega CEO said a year ago he was sorry for the company's misdirection to where they are bringing over Yakuza in a timely matters gives me hope Square is next in line to prove us how they have corrected their mistakes.

I'm playing FF4 on my phone (DS Version) and FF13. I like both, but it's interesting seeing how turned based has age. I feel like in a newer setting it's hard to keep turned base in a good pace. I think FF13 did a good job with a hybrid combat system of turn based in a modern setting. That said, I've always preferred the ARPG style since the KH days which I did play when it came out.

I was wondering what is the threshold to break a profit since it's been 10 damn years by now? Do they write off the costs from FF Versus 13 since it was technically a different game, then start when it became my FF 15?

I am enjoying FF4, but holy shit the amount of times of working 5 steps to go back into another battle gets old. You can't avoid any battles either since they just "pop" up.
I did like how FF13 you could avoid a few enemies, but it's super rare due to the hallway setup. That said, there should be an option to at least walk around a battle occasionally since I shouldn't have to engage in 10 battles to back track to a damn save point within a dungeon.

No they aren't at all, warping lets you warp across the map as a means of traversal, use it to warp to enemies, to high towers, in the air and on land and it also uses MP so there is an economy to it, dodge roll is a as the name suggests and is a dodge roll evasive move, and there is an entirely separate phantom ability called warp dodge
Phantom abilities includes knightsguard which is L1 recovery after being hit, knightshield which only works after activating phantom sword, knightswords, warp-dodge and more

When Tabata was asked about the budget of the game, he seemed surprised by people thinking this was one of the most expensive games done and denied it.
I guess that from 2006 to 2010 this shouldn't have been to expensive, as only a handful of devs were in afaik, while the main focus was on XIII, XIII-2, LR and XIV.
Anyways, I've come to really warm up to Tabata. I know I don't like some of the changes he's had (keyword: had) to make or the way he adressed them, but dude seems super passionate, is very nice and wants to be close to the fans.
Didn't love Type-0, but he seems talented as well, so yeah, hopefully he'll be given (if this game is good enough) opportunities to direct a mainline FF or another big game (he talked about a new big IP as his next project iirc).
