Only real problem with the hardware was the shit laser in both the fat and slim.
I play all my games on my slim through SMB with OPL on FMCB with the laser in it having died long ago.
My fat plays discs after I cleaned the laser, but it will die one day too. Thinking I should get a network adapter and HDD for it.
1) Atrocious build quality. if you so much as breathe on your PS2 the laser will fail
2) Literally a no games console in its first year, and the 'games' that were there looked like shit due to the PS2's high difficulty curve for developers
3) Too many games that were style over substance (e.g. The Getaway)
4) Fuzzy, blurry picture quality due to not usually running at a full 640x480 but some kind of degraded resolution like 512x480. Embarrassing for a 6th gen console.
