I played the demo and it was shit. The enemy AI makes no sense and it got me killed several times.
Before the girl's transformation, the enemies will only ever attack the main character. You can put her infront of him to the point where they can't get around her and they'll just sit there never attacking her.
The enemies also only attack one at a time, regardless of what you do. But then after the part where she becomes a mage, if your MC ever falls below 50% HP, all the enemies will suddenly decide to attack all at once and kill him instantly.
The worst part of this is if you fail at this point, you don't just get put back to the start of the battle you're on, you get put back several battles and have to deal with unskippable cutscenes.
That demo turned me the fuck off from playing this game.

Honestly, it's pretty simple if you just make sure to follow the instructions step by step. The only part I had an issue with was part 4, and that was due to me worrying I might've bricked my N3DSagain.
But then I read I read the next step that said to remove the sd card to get it to boot 2.1.0 firmware, and it just works. That whole section past part 3 is optional anyway, if you want al9h instead of just an emunand.

It's more like FFT, except there aren't any generics and less customization for your characters. (No classes.)
However, it still ends up being pretty fun and simple and for a lowered price I definitely recommend it. Story ranges from being too safe to kind of neat, but the music is top tier.
No way to speed the game up though, there's this awkward pause before an enemy moves their unit.

Yes, although you can't max out everyone on your first run (for example, maxing out Lisette and Mordi on a first run is mutually exclusive).
Maxing out the witches is never a bad idea, especially since they actually "evolve" when they max out, getting a new outfit, increased stats and their second Conduct which hits the entire field for their element.Hilda'sis especially valuable since it's a non-elemental attack meaning it can't be resisted or absorbed.
Maxing out Archibald is a great idea if you're using him since it'll give him +2 Movement which solves his biggest problem.Giselle and Danteboth gain Follow Up at max Affinity, which gives you another turn if you defeat an enemy and which Alto learns at 27 (Gisellehas an extremely short window to get her to max Affinity though). Nonoka gets Control Condition at something like Affinity 2 which makes her break the game in two.
Also you can get an ending with whoever you get max-affinity with, including the dudes.
