PC is the only platform where games that aren't cancer have anywhere near a decent chance of coming out. If a console only has shit games then it's impossible for anyone to come along and look at that and say "This is cancer, let's do something about it", because as much as /v/ likes to meme about the indie cancer, AAA is the real cancer and always has been. I wonder how many of EA/Activision/Blizzard/Ubisoft's shills have actually converted people into thinking that indie games are "Artistic" $2 garbage.
On console, costs are huge. You need to pay for licensing, for the SDK, to push out updates.... The big studios don't mind, but it's nigh on impossible for a small-time garage developer to get their games on console.
So, console exclusives are for the most part cookie-cutter FPS/TPS. It saves time and money because that's a formula that will SELL. Any risks or dramatic gameplay shifts get shot down immediately because it's safer to maker CoD 15.
