The entire character is very clearly intentionally supposed to be a female version Link. It's not coincidence at all. And really, it's obvious that they're testing the waters for having a playable female Link in a major Zelda game beyond this. These are all things that were made apparent since the old concept art that I'm sure we've all seen by now.
Starting to play this game more and I'm warming up to it. I just hope it gets harder.

Actually that concept art was for his sister, it wasnt for Link or a female Link at all. She wasnt suited to be a sister since he already had one in Wind Waker and they thought it would be too conflicting to the story.
Aonuma has shot down the fem-link idea multiple times, at best we'd get someone who isnt him. It's why he made Linkle some random in the first place, it's even why she's named that, because she cant be and was never supposed to actually be Link or a girl version of Link.

The Moon from MM was first summoned by the Great Fairy in a cutscene, then was also used for the powered-up Hookshot, Link's Great Fairy weapon, Young Link's Fierce Deity form and as one of the Skull Kid's attacks. I wouldn't put it past them to re-use the Chain Chomp for something else if the opportunity came up.

As for the enemies, it's jarring, but it's not like they DO anything except stand around even on the Wii U.

Individual units are mostly to be avoided, and at least from what I've seen on the O3DS footage, it almost seems like that's what you're up against every time. Not to mention more enemies = more items, more kills and higher difficulty. Considering how many achievements and things are linked to how much shit you can kill in one map I can't see that working too well with O3DS.

BowWow is what Link's Awakening and the GBA version of Four Swords call Chain Chomps, in what was either a translation oversight or a weird artistic choice in localization. Generally speaking though, when people talk about BowWow they mean the Chain Chomp you have to take for a walk in Link's Awakening.
Link's Awakening featured a lot of cameo enemies from the Mario series, almost all of which retained their original Mario names in the Japanese version. The English translation is a little weird about them, though: while most characters retained their original localized names (like Goomba, Thwomp and Pokey), some got some strange alternatives instead. Wart, for example, kept his original Japanese name of 'Mamu', while "BowWow" is a more accurate translation of the enemies original Japanese name "WanWan" (which is the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound a dog makes), rather than the "Chain Chomp" name it was given in Super Mario Bros. 3. Then you have Shy Guys, which care called Heiho in Japan, that LA calls Mask Mimics for no particular reason.

The game came out in 2014 and finished its DLC almost exactly a year ago, and it exists as a completed product. I would kind of understand the anger if Legends came out like a month after the DLC finished, but as it stands it's a totally legitimate upgraded re-release.

I'm using the Wii U version as the basis here.
In Japan, the DLC was sold in packs OR seperately. That's why there were no rewards for the DLC characters on the map (except for the trio, who were patched in).
Medli's a free patch, who comes out the same time as the first DLC, and is already confirmed to have a reward on the first DLC map.
However, since it looks like Japan is this time ONLY doing packs, I guess Marin will also have rewards on the LA map when it comes out, but no others.

Well, all of Koholint Island was an illusion created by the windfish's dream, but the exact nature of the illusion is never fully explained. You could argue that, even though it's explicitly explained to be a dream, the Wind Fish itself does exist, and as a magical being, it could be that his dreams can manifest physically via magic.
Alternatively: it's Zelda and they never fucking explain a god damn thing about anything.

I just beat the first adventure map on 3ds and unlock the new Wind waker map, from what i see theres TONS of costumes + weapons to unlock and some new map feature things, but it wont let me start it only because i have to advance in legend mode first

They're in adventure maps. You can check the HUD by pressing y on the map a few times until you see the ones with food.

Something useful is that in HW you can sprint which is pretty quick and easy to force. It's not as fast as being mounted but not far off. I think its like 130 or 140 speed while a base horse is 150. I dont think you could sprint at all in DQH so it was a pain in that one.
