It's going to be the safest FF ever made, mostly just copying aspects of other games and arguably doing them better, but not doing anything groundbreaking. Also, the story in particular will feature scenes and plot points that will impress normies with "feels" and vague half-attempts at philosophy, but ultimately lack resonance and profundity.
In other words, the whole game will have a very design-by-committee feel. Because of this, a lot of people on /v/ will dislike it or feel lukewarm at best, but by the same token the mainstream will gobble it up and proclaim it the second coming of Square despite probably never having been around for their actual glory days. That'll incense the autists and diehard fans and they'll post threads for months afterwards nitpicking every little flaw because they're incapable of articulating or even identifying the more subtle underlying issues. The mainstream will respond by saying that the diehard fans are overreacting, or they're just anti-progressive basement-dwelling losers, or in some rare cases actually defend against the autists' points, but the debates arising from those defenses will ultimately be pointless because as I said those points will have nothing to do with what's actually wrong with the game.
In the end, the game will sell extremely well despite, or perhaps in some cases even because of, the vocal minority. The game may or may not get a sequel, but in light of the XIII fiasco they'll wait a respectable time before trying it. However, you can bet your ass that FFXVI or whatever will be carefully designed to repeat the success(read: blatantly copy off) of XV
