I like how Dragon's Dogma and Minecraft make nighttime actually dark and dangerous. The cycle is too quick in Minecraft, though.

It's called Dextromethorphan and its an extremely strong psychedelic dissociative.
Basically you just drink the cough syrupy above the recommended dosage and you'll get high as balls

Dying Light has way too short of a night, it's only like 7 minutes.
