I've actually played it all the way through with my friend. It was so unbelievably bad

It seemed decent for the first 15 minutes. The problem is those 15 minutes are basically repeated over and over again over 9 hours. The combat would have been bareable if it was just kind of a thing you did in between platforming sections. But there's barely any platforming so you're just hitting enemies with two moves and screen clearers for the entire game.
Does knack grow as a character?

Knack is a game that starts out so solid and fun for like 30 minutes and then as it goes on you realize that the game is getting simpler and less fun but then ONE level in like 12 will have a cool gimmick and youll say oh shit maybe this game will get better but it never does and too late you're already more than halfway through this shitty game

I agree, the only real platforming was done in that first level in the lab or whatever, and it was kind of fun. You had to time yourself to avoid electricity and shit. And then it just kind of stopped.
