Albeit at high levels it does become a chore to level up skills, yet you're forced unless you want good weapons that dries out your RP in 2 attacks.

I decided to go back and try a few of my fav harvest moon / rune factory games after stardew came out and realized they every single game forces you through a month tutorial of bullshit and text.

It's easy to forget about them, since they usually live in the village inn and can be hard to find. Especially Yue, which is walking around town in the second game.
