I had this weird gimmick going with Setsuna where I had her A+ my MU so she could get Oni Chieftain for the Counter. She has such low defense that enemies would sometimes kill themselves by just attacking, then I could just move in and fully heal her thanks to her personal skill. It was useful every once in a while, but ended up just getting her killed in chapter 23. Oh well.

IMO the optimal path is to go Birthright -> Conquest -> Revelations (for the orgy of supports and child units)

I got him early, not too many chapters after getting Leo himself.
He's got slightly better MAG and slightly better RES than Elise, and a bit better DEFthough that doesn't matter much in the endgame. However, Elise beats him in Skill, Speed and Luck, and I get a lot of follow-up attacks with Elise because of it. Forrest ain't terrible, but when Elise is a little bit better offensively and can heal, it makes him pointless.At least his high Magic made a good Dragonstone+ focused Kana though.
