How difficult is to play using both screens at the same time? Is it viable to aim looking at the tv and ignoring the gamepad's screen?

Which other SF game is it most comparable to?

Fucking awesome.

Pretty sure this is gonna turn out to be the best game in the series. Also yeah >>332042637 can you just ignore the gamepad's screen most times like in splatoon?
>>
I don't believe you. It's not a real Starfox game.

Nintendo didn't say "Let's make a Starfox game" they said "how can we actually use this piece of shit gamepad" and made some prototypes and then said "this is kind of like Starfox" and thus, Starfox Zero was born. And no one game a shit, and it will sell worse than Starfox Adventures.
>>
>>332042637
It was difficult to focus only on the TV but not as difficult to focus only on the gamepad. The motion controls worked for me personally, but I can see how it may bother some and get annoying. (I.e constantly recalibrating) In one of the planets I demoed as land master, the of boss battle required heavy use of both TV and gamepad.
>>
>>332042167
yea fuck off, im going to need to play it

Were you the one constantly recalibrating? It's just a button push away, right? What does recalibrating do exactly, just center the cockpit view? I cam work with that if that's the case.

>>332043756
neat.

>>332043930
eh, that's fine. Sounds pretty challenging too. If I could get used to Kid icarus uprising's controls then I can get used to this.
>>
>>332042167

I was there too. I can safely say this is going to be the best in the series, maybe even better than Adventures.

It looks a lot like a rehash of Star Fox 64, but actually playing it its hardly anything like that. This is a completely new game wrapped in a familiar mold. Never has controlling the arwing been so engaging. Many times, when in other Star Fox games you would've had to circle back to aim at a target, you would be able to catch that target at the last second with the gamepad and save yourself precious time. Its a crazy setup but it works, and its probably the most relevant use of the Wii U gamepad I've yet to see.
>>
>>332044273
Yep. Sorry if I wasn't clear, "recalibrating" just meant centering the cockpit view. It's very easy to do (I believe it was pressing left input and Y)

Is there a sensitivity slider for the gyro controls?

I find that they're often best when set on max sensitivity, and it'd be disappointing to be stuck with only one setting. Default settings for gyro controls suck.

nah fuck off still, I HAD people in threads who played games like DmC and said it was great from PAX
people who played Infinite and found it gameplay amazing
and sure as hell saw a thread where a guy played sticker star and found it FUCKING FUN
>>
>>332042167

You know what? I would rather have a game that's similar to a game that's good than have a game that's unique but shit.

I will happily buy this game because it's not going to try and reinvent the wheel, it's just going to be a good game. It's been fucking over a decade since 64, I don't even care.

I'm still fucking salty that Nintendo cannot learn their lesson with Paper Mario, a game that you could easily just make another proper installment of with a touch of creativity, but instead we just keep trying to breathe new life into something that was never dead. Super Paper Mario was a fine excursion, but Sticker Star was a disaster and Color Splash just looks to repeat the same mistakes.

There's no need to take a game that works and make it into something that doesn't.

Just don't forget that for every fast level in SF64 (Sector Y, Venom, Area 6) could get pretty slow at times (Meteo, Fortuna, Macbeth). SF0 likely is slower early on, but I'm betting it picks up later.

That's EXACTLY what I mean, though.

ALBW was good. You're right. Even if it could've been improved by having an outright new map, there's no denying that game didn't need anything new.
But that was the game that got a needless follow-up filled with multiplayer and fashion and triple-totems and all those other forgettable gimmicks.

And even ALBW had a really strange rental thing that slowly killed the sense of progression- at least it did for me, personally.

People like Kat because she's an unobtrusive love interest.

People dislike Krystal because she was an extremely intrusive love interest who only got on the Star Fox team because of her mary sue psychic powers. She had no skill as a pilot and thus had no place in an Arwing.

I know they haven't learned it for a fucking decade, and I really am reaching my limits. If the NX isn't blowing me away, I'm not even gonna bother.

I don't mind if they try art styles or additional shit, it's when the fuck up the core gameplay in the name of innovation.

Like, take the two yarn games. Both have a pretty neat aesthetic and run with the idea a lot, but I prefer Yoshi to Kirby, because Woolly World still plays like a Yoshi game, but Epic Yarn robbed Kirby of his suction power (even if it made sense).

Speaking of which, KIRBY is a game that almost perfectly encapsulates what I'm talking about. Sure, Kirby might have weird spin-off stuff sometimes like Air Ride, Epic Yarn or the Curse games, but all mainline Kirby games are deeply rooted in a gameplay base that has gone almost entirely unchanged in years, but still manage to make it feel fun with each installment, even if little changes. I though Return to Dreamland and Triple Deluxe were both amazing and I'm excited to get Planet Robobot.
