The boss themes are pretty great. Main menu music sets the mood of the game as you're creating your character as well. Just because Motoi is doing a mediocre job in the recent Tales games doesn't mean all of his works were shit.

We're at the end of the eternal cycle of "The Age of Fire". Everything is all chaotic and shit's gone to hell, almost literally. For what its worth, I liked DS2's early fast travel and out abundance of bonfires... DS1 definitely had better level design though. I went back through DS1 and was surprised at how much better and coherent it was. DS2 the level design and connection between worlds makes very little sense. The difference is huge. And after seeing how well designed bloodborne levels were... DS2 levels just seem whack.
