Macross inspired space-shooter. Semi-randomly generated levels and item distribution. Each level is free roam. It is fairly easy to fulfill the mission objective and leave, but the longer you stay on a map the more loot you can find to make you stronger for later stages in the season.
Game is broken up into five seasons, your upgrades only last for a run of a season.
Game's aesthetic is cool and looks great besides the shit-tier character art.
Mechanically the game is a lot of fun, you have to manage your inertia, and can pull of some cool techniques, like boosting in one direction, cutting your engine and flipping around to shoot at an enemy as your inertia pulls you away from it.
Your ship can turn into a mech.

It used to be that your library listed links to every update separately, and waited a while before updating the base installer. Now whenever a new update comes out the installer immediately gets replaced, and only the latest patch is available.
This results in such hilarious situations like missing one patch and having to redownload the entire game, or having to redownload the game anyway, because GOG updated two patches one after the other, but as only the latest is available, it becomes impossible to update.

The Final Cut is really the best, because it's got all the classes ready to take through the whole thing. And the controller support is some of the best of ARPGs besides Victor Vran.

the sale was a lot better earlier on when the turnover between games was a lot faster. a fun thread comes from a balance between a lot of good games that go fast interspersed with longer slogs from games that take a little while to go, letting people take breaks, make jokes about them, and more easily talk among themselves.
