The music style's changed a lot from game to game because of changes in musicians. The guy who did the first game's music didn't work on any other games.
The rerecorded shouts are lacking, Phoenix's VA really phoned it in in DD.
Also the Pursuit in DD is too slow and boring, it doesn't give that same thrill Cornered does.

Justice for all had the best "reveal the truth" theme in the original trilogy. Also the "panic" theme during the 4th case were fucking amazing in adding tension.
Trials and Tribulations also had great objection and cornered themes. Alongside a cross-examination theme that wasn't as great as the first game but had it's own style. In the first game the theme screamed "Go time" in the third it was more "putting on the pressure while figuring it all out"
It's true however that the more recent games lack the sheer raw power the original trilogy had. The perfect example is Phoenix's "Objecton!" itself. It sounds really weak in DD while in de original trilogy it had every fucker who lied shitting their pants.

Fuck, I know I haven't even finished replaying the rest of the games, but Big Top does the thing I hate the most about the series; having tons of sections that can easily be answered with more than one piece of evidence and testimonies that can easy be broken but can't do anything about it for no fucking reason.

I'm surprised at some of the hate DD gets. I rate it pretty highly in the series since it's the only game with no completely shit cases and no absolutely insufferable witnesses. All of it's cases are pretty solid, all of the witnesses are enjoyable, even the ones that are meant to be annoying (something which Lotta, Oldbag and Larry can't manage)
Blackquill was also the first prosecutor that felt threatening since Edgeworth and Manfred in the FIRST GAME. Say what you want about Fran, Klavier or Godot as characters (I like 'em), as prosecutors, as opponents, they were all fucking shit. Never felt threatened by them, never felt they had control of the courtroom and 2 of them just resorted to childish namecalling. Not that I'm implying Blackquill was Edgeworth/Manfred tier but it was refreshing to have an actual opponent in court again who wasn't one of the witnesses.
